“You are not Human!”. Even though I often say this to Adaora with the intention of expressing how truly phenomenal she is, I can see how continually saying it, does her and the world a disservice. Adaora has the sort of clarity and honesty about life that would make even the deepest thinkers retreat to reconsider theirs. She holds her honesty dear to her heart and as a result strives to make sure her actions are in sync with her words. When you listen to her speak, it is almost as though she came to the world stripped of the layers of mental limitations that a typical human being carries. What she says is simple, makes sense, and offers guidance to help you live free and true. It can seem tough being like her, so this is why I would say she isn’t human. However, anyone who pauses to look closely, will see that she speaks from a place where she has chosen to strip off all the complexities that we as people often pile on ourselves in a bid to get by. We thereby see more and more people become less human, less purposeful, less of who God has designed us to be because we believe that we need to be something or someone else to get ahead in life.
For a couple of weeks after Adaora had asked that I foreword this book, I struggled with confusion. I could not understand how someone who has access to many great achievers and thought leaders would consider me, her business partner, to be the one to do this. She said she believed somewhere deep in her heart that I was the best person to do it, and that God wanted me to do it. It was after I had gone 10 pages into the manuscript that I got clarity and understood why.
This book is direct, authentic, honest and full of light. What I bring to this book is proof that what she shares is true and matches her actions completely. I have had the privilege to share multiple paths with Adaora; business to ministry. I have seen how the tough times produced the gems she shares and how the great times emerged out of her consistency and obedience.
I believe that This Thing Called Purpose is God’s answer in a dark time to a people who should see that within them lies the light and hope that the world needs. Adaora’s writing will take you on a journey from discovering your purpose to all that you need to stay on track regardless of the pressure that might come. Her style is such that it doesn’t force any decision or opinion on you but with the understanding of how unique everyone is, it guides you on the best possible course of action to take.
Somewhere in the middle of the book, Adaora seems to disappear and You as a reader will find yourself taking centre stage. By the time you are done reading, you will feel so much lighter with every decision you have made to be all that you are meant to be. This is more than a book, It is a workshop.
